Clackamas Sheriff Craig Roberts Endorses Lori Chavez-DeRemer for Oregon House District 51

Clackamas, OR - Clackamas County’s top law enforcement leader, Sheriff Craig Roberts, has officially endorsed Lori Chavez-DeRemer for State House of Representatives District 51.

“I have worked closely with Lori Chavez-DeRemer and I know firsthand her commitment to public safety and emergency preparedness. Lori led the effort to protect a dedicated police force for the citizens of Happy Valley. This investment helped keep our response times low for the more than 3,000 911 calls a year, making our community a much safer place."

Craig Roberts was sworn in as the Sheriff of Clackamas County on Jan. 4, 2005, and re-elected to office in 2008 and 2012. A native of Clackamas County, Roberts has served in a peace keeping capacity for more than 30 years. His leadership and vision for improving public safety practices and emergency preparedness are well known and respected.

Lori is also well known for her leadership and hard work. She grew up in a small farming community, was the first in her family to graduate college, and worked to support her husband Shawn while he attended medical school. Shawn and Lori settled in to Happy Valley nearly two decades ago to raise their twin daughters. They founded Anesthesia Associates Northwest and grew the small company into one of Oregon’s most respected healthcare firms.

Lori is a strong believer in public service and community engagement. Shortly after arriving to Happy Valley, she put her values into action. In 2002, she was appointed to the Happy Valley Parks Committee, went on to be elected to the Happy Valley City Council, and was elected Mayor in 2010 and 2014.
